Our Pricing Philosophy

We endeavor to make each customer experience as memorable and special as we can.

Whether it’s wedding photography, a special event or party, sports or automotive photography, commercial/product photography, or headshots, we have a pricing and payment plan for every budget!

We believe pricing should be clear and upfront.

Regular post-processing, delivery of digital copies (special requests, skin retouching, are extra - see “add-ons” below) as well as contract authoring, travel, and location-scouting expenses within the Salt Lake Valley are included in each of the below quotes (travel and location scouting outside the Salt Lake Valley is extra, see below).

We provide easy to understand packages and blocks of time for purchase,

If all you need is a photographer for a couple of hours, or we are happy to offer both daily and weekly rate packages at a discounted rate. We have a package for every budget!

We are also happy to offer payment plans!

For a small additional fee (varies by length of agreement) we provide payment plans of varying lengths in order to best meet your budget, and we charge no interest on payment plans of 12 months or less!

In order to make sure your special date is secured, we do ask for a non-refundable deposit up front, which varies by package and/or payment plan. Balance of payment due before end of day on the date of booking except where payment plans are arranged.

All packages and bookings are subject to availability. Pre-paid and on-retainer customers receive priority.

Daily Rate

Sometimes you need to have a photographer available on-location for the entire day, and for those occasions we are happy to offer a discounted daily rate!

All daily bookings include one complimentary 8” x 10” or 8.5” x 11” print hand created just for you in our very own lab (other sizes available up to A2, some custom sizes as well, contact us for more details)!

  • Single Day (8 hours max): $900

  • Two Days (8hrs/day max): $1600

  • Three Days (8hrs/day max): $2100

  • Four Days (8hrs/day max): $2400

  • Weekly Rate (7 day minimum): $3500

  • 6 month payment plan fee: $50 per day booked

  • 12 month payment plan fee: $500

  • Minimum non-refundable advance deposit: 25% of final purchase prices, including any add-ons/fees

  • Any remaining balance not covered by payment plan due in full on booking date

  • Daily rates are subject to photographer availability

  • Multi-day blocks must be booked as blocks of consecutive days

  • Must be booked minimum of three weeks in advance (see Add-Ons for urgent or rush work).

  • Meal gratuity or provision for the photographer/staff required for each 8 hour block

  • Timing and overages are easy and clear!

    • The clock starts when we arrive to set up and stops after 8 hours elapses on a given day

    • $150/hr rate applies for all overages exceeding a 15 minute grace period after daily 8 hour allotment elapses

    • a new hour starts again every 60 minutes thereafter

Add-Ons and Extras

Sometimes one of our packages doesn’t quite fit the bill, so in order to be as flexible as possible we offer the following add-ons and extras:

  • Add-ons:

    • Road travel outside the Salt Lake Valley: $1/mile, minimum $20

      • estimates assessed as a round-trip

      • estimates formulated using Google Maps mileage measurement according to most fuel-efficient route available

      • charges assessed in advance for the entire round-trip length of travel and will be added to your final total

      • subject to overages of $1/mile if actual travel exceeds 20% of initial estimate or 10 miles, whichever is greater, payable upon receipt of invoice

    • Travel outside Utah

    • Location Fees (when applicable)

    • Short Notice/Urgent Work

      • 1 week notice: $150

      • 2 day notice: $250

      • Same-day service: $500

      • Availability restrictions apply, prepaid/retainer and booked customers always take precedence, short notice/urgent work not always available.

    • Object removal, skin retouching (blemish removal, feature alteration, “airbrushing,” etc)

      • $75/hr, minimum of 1 hour purchase

      • May be purchased in advance or as an additional purchase after delivery of digital files

      • Disclaimer - not all objects, blemishes, etc, are easily removable: each images and scenario is unique and results may vary from image to image. While we will make every effort to fulfill your request, we cannot provide refunds for impossible/imperfect removal/retouching tasks or completed work deemed unsatisfactory after-the-fact, nor can we guarantee satisfactory results for removal/retouching before work is completed. We hold the expectation that customers have reviewed our prior work and has set their expectations accordingly

      • We will not under any circumstances add objects, elements, or people to images due to ethical considerations, nor will we remove people who were valid/invited attendees of your event for the same reasons

    • Prints and Printing Service

    • Commercial Licensing/Exclusivity/Perpetual Licenses

      • While we attempt to list a price for every possible option, this is one area where our estimate would depend directly on the intended uses of our product. We are happy to discuss the following types of licensing either in advance of your purchase or after-the-fact:

        • Exclusive/non-exclusive, time-bound non-commercial/commercial license (time-frame pre-determined)

        • Perpetual/indefinite exclusive/non-exclusive non-commercial/commercial license

        • Permanent/indefinite exclusive commercial/non-commercial license

Fees and Disclaimers

Fees

  • Location Fees (when applicable, most locations require no fee)

    • Varies by location and venue/type

    • Will be built into initial quote whenever possible, however we do ask that all location fees be paid in full at the time of deposit.

    • Fees after-the-fact may also be assessed when applicable/appropriate (see disclaimers)

  • Late Fees:

    • payments and payment dates are agreed upon on a case-by-case basis except for retainer work.

    • payments are considered late five calendar days after the due date

    • for payment plans, a late fee of 10% of the installment will be applied to the total for each late payment

    • for balances due in full on booking date, a fee of 10% of the total balance will be assessed on the following day with an additional 5% for each subsequent day

  • Out-of-state and multi-day travel

    • While we are more than happy to travel to your location, we do require all expenses for travel outside of the State of Utah be covered solely by the customer

      • we will make every effort to ensure an accurate estimate of these expenses are provided in advance, however any unavoidable expenses which were unforeseen at the time of booking will be included in your invoice. We will make every effort to avoid additional charges, however some unavoidable charges may be accrued.

      • Out of state travel expenses are required up-front as a part of and in addition to your non-refundable deposit.

      • We apologize for any inconvenience, however, due to unfortunate previous experience all out of state travel expenses are non-refundable

    • Multi-day travel within the State of Utah which requires lodging and other related expenses is billable to the customer like out-of-state travel, and customer assumes all coverage of costs

  • All foreseeable fees will be added as line-items to your invoice, fees assessed after initial invoice will be invoiced additionally

    • we will make every effort to ensure fees are disclosed ahead of your invoice, however on some rare occasions there will be additional fees which cannot be foreseen. We will make every effort to ensure these are disclosed to you as we learn of them

  • Deposits: a deposit secures your date on our calendar against being booked by another client. Once provided, you have our assurance that we will not double book or otherwise fill this slot and will turn away any other offers for that time period.

    • We wish to provide all our customers the same equal expectation with regards to guarantee/availability of date(s) and time(s) of services, product deliverables, etc., regardless of how big or small an invoice may be. Your deposit, no matter how big or small, is considered your exclusive reservation of the agreed upon date(s)/time(s) and secures your unique date(s)/time(s) solely for you, separate and distinct from any other customer's bookings. Having paid your deposit, you can rest assured that we will decline any conflicting bookings, regardless of how much we would stand to gain or lose, and that we will be punctual according to the times agreed upon.

    • Due also to the exclusive nature of our booking policy, we are unable to offer any refunds on deposits or charges of any kind against dates contracted and booked which you cancel, arrive late to, or to bookings to which you or a required member of your event or party is a “no-show.”

Why Our Prices Are What They Are

Above all else, we at Tye Morris Photo want to ensure you, as our valued customer, have an amazing boutique experience with us as well as provide top-notch, exclusive services and a finished product available nowhere else! We also want to ensure we commit to a clear and fair pricing structure which fairly compensates our representatives for their decades of study practice in their craft while still providing you with a finished product that will bring joy to your family for generations, not to mention make all your friends jealous!

Our commitment to not only clarity in our pricing structure, but promptness in service and an outstanding finished product is why expenses such as local travel expenses within the Salt Lake Valley, location scouting expenses, and some regular materials expenses are built into the prices quoted in our pricing structure.

As a boutique photography shop, the overwhelming majority of our work is "on location," requiring at least some travel in our personal vehicles, therefore our Pricing Structure also includes expenses such as vehicle maintenance and upkeep, thus ensuring our mode of transportation brings us to your location on time and without incident or delay. Our pricing structure also allows us to make sure the equipment we use to create the art you purchase is always kept in excellent working order and in good repair, as well as ensure it is updated in a timely manner and replaced when needed; the last thing we want is for poorly maintained, poorly performing, or substandard equipment to interfere with your special day!

Our pricing structure is an important part of how we guarantee our punctuality and the quality level of our finished product. Other businesses sometimes choose to cut corners in these areas, but our commitment to quality services and products will not allow for these shortcuts.

Hourly Blocks

We know that sometimes you only need us for an hour or two, no problem! Book us for as much or as little time as you need.

Hourly blocks must be booked a minimum of three weeks in advance, however we can accommodate short-notice needs as well, see “add-ons” section for details. Head shot sessions can be booked with five days of advance notice. All hourly bookings include one complimentary 8” x 10” or 8.5” x 11” print hand created just for you in our very own lab (other sizes available up to A2, some custom sizes as well, please see our photo printing services page for more details)!

  • Hourly A La Carte, 1-3 hours: $150

    • know you’ll need us on a specific day but aren’t sure for how many hours? No problem!

    • A La Carte deposit: 50% of the estimate required in advance

    • a la carte rate applies each hour thereafter

    • payment in full on booking date unless payment plan is arranged.

  • 4 - 6 hours: $125/hour (minimum purchase of 4 pre-booked hours, deposit required)

  • Payment plan fee: $5/hour purchased over a maximum of 4 months

  • Overages are final and nonrefundable

  • Minimum nonrefundable advance deposit: 50% of final purchase price, including any add-ons

  • Payment plans only available on purchases of 4 - 6 hours and are limited to 4 months in duration

  • Any remaining balance not covered by payment plan due in full on booking date

  • Timing and overages are easy and clear!

    • The clock starts when we arrive to set up and stops when we leave.

    • The same hourly rate applies for all overages exceeding a single fifteen minute grace period after your booked time elapses

    • a new block starts again after the grace period and at the start of every subsequent hour

On-Retainer services

Ideal for some short notice customers!

Don’t know for sure when you’ll need us or for how long, but you know you’ll need us soon?

No problem! We are pleased to offer discounted services on-retainer as well. This means you can retain us with a minimum of 1 week notice on a month-to-month basis.

  • 1 month, 5 hours/week max: $3,500

    • Subject to availability and scheduling, customers with paid deposits take precedence

    • Additional hours purchasable at hourly rates above, subject to availability and overages as described in the hourly section

  • 1 month, 10 hours/week max: $4,500

    • Subject to same availability restrictions and overages as above

  • Short-notice fees for on-retainer customers:

    • 2 day notice: $100

    • 1 day notice: $200

    • Same-day service: $500

    • all short-notice fees applied on a per-occurrence basis

  • Payment is due on the first of the month, package is void if payment not received by the 5th calendar day of the purchased month unless prior arrangements are made. Price does not include any add-ons, out of area travel fees, location fees, etc.
